Prayas Shravan Viklang Sansthan

Recently, the students and faculties of Computer Science and Engineering stream of Chhatrapti Shivaji Institute of Technology paid a visit to “Prayas Shravan Viklang Sansthan” GE Road Supela Bhilai; an Institute run for deaf and dumb kids. The occasion was to mark 69th Independence Day.

 All the students and faculties assembled in the college in the morning and after flag hoisting, the gathering  left for the visit at “Prayas” 10.15 am; it was a short drive of 30minutes.
On arrival, the CSITians were greeted by the teachers and the inmates of prayas; in return, chocolates and lots of love were distributed.
After which a photo session was held with CSITians and Prayas members giving a memorable experience.
Thereafter, it was time for sharing the spirit of independence with the students of Prayas. Shubhangi Singh and Preeti Mehta danced to the tune of a remix song  at 11.10am. By 11.15am , it was the turn of Shraddha Khemka, who danced on another remix. Then it was the turn of a joint performance by the students of CSIT and Prayas; that shook the stage at 11.20am. Kiran Pathak, Rupali Singh, Karishma Khatwani, Nikita Ramprasad and Premanjali Sonoboir peroformed a group dance. Then was the turn of Farheen, a student of Prayas who danced with absolute grace. This was optimum enjoyment and a humanitarian approach where the students of Prayas who are differently abled felt oneness with the spirit of free India;

Followed was a gesture of humanity where some donations were made by CSITians; an amount of Rs 10,000 was donated by the HoD of CSE department Mr.O.P.Yadav on behalf of CSIT to Mr. Rajesh Pandey who runs the prayas, in the presence of teachers Mrs. Nikita, Mrs. Manjushree, Mrs.Ranjini and many more.
K.V.Aditya student of CSE 5th semester had a tete-a-tete from one of the teachers Talat Sheikh madam about the Prayas Sansthan , the students of Prayas. She told how the teachers of Prayas Sansthan are trained to teach the deaf and dumb students by sign language and how it is used. Every student of Prayas communicated well with the sign language and expressed their feelings on our visit to the Prayas ShravanViklang Sansthan.
It was spare time till noon, where the inmates of prayas had an affectionate section with all of us and we had to depart by 12 noon, leaving an ever living impression on every nooks and corners of our heart; with the satisfaction that we could contribute some good moments with the differently abled children of prayas.
For next time we try to spare more time in sansthan  and  to take lunch for childrens. We also organize some games for  children next time.
The amazing part is that none of us pity these children. Instead, we feel proud of them and pity ourselves to be lacking the kind of vividness. We were honored to be a part of their lives although just for a few hours.
