Basics of Digital Image Processing and its Applications

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of CSIT, Durg, had conducted a guest lecture on "Basics of Digital Image Processing and its Applications" for the students of ETC-3’rd, 5’th and 7’th Sem. on 11.08.2016, 11.00 a.m.
Dr. Bikesh Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Biomedical Engineering, NIT, Raipur, was the Guest Speaker of this event. The lecture commenced at 11:00 A.M at Ramanujan Hall. The Guest Lecture started with the welcome address of Dr. Amit Agrawal, Professor & Head of ECE Department. In his welcome address, Dr. Amit Agrawal introduced the chief Guest Dr. Bikesh Kumar Singh, and urged students to make the most of the opportunity and motivated them to actively take part in the session.

Dr. Bikesh started on a very interesting note by explaining the correlation between what we see on the display screen and how it is perceived by the human eye. He went on to explain the very intricate topics pertaining to image processing like the various transformation and the steps involving the digital image processing. 
The Chief Guest, Dr. Bikesh Kumar Singh, in his lecture highlighted the impact of Digital image processing its techniques such as image enhancement, histogram, image subtraction, gray scale and windowing. He elucidated the implementation through real time applications in medical field. During the highly interactive session, Dr. Bikesh received several questions from the students and he patiently resolved all queries. Finally, the Chief Guest concluded that the student/staff community had to contribute to the research issues which are wide open in the Digital image processing.

Dr. Bikesh Kumar Singh was felicitated by Mr. O.P. Yadav & Mr. Pushpendra Singh, with the presentation of a memento as a token of appreciation on behalf of the students and staff of CSIT Family.
